High heels keep getting higher

Have you noticed how skirts are getting lower, while heels are getting higher? Just take a look at the six-inch heeled footwear that Victoria Beckham and the other celebrities are wearing and you will realize that four-inch heels and higher are the hottest and latest fashion trend.

If you’re still wondering how these women can spend their days (even nights!) wearing killer high heels, then blame it on 21st century fashion. For one, wearing heels can give any woman poise, and help her achieve proper posture. There is also no way for anyone wearing at least four-inch heeled shoes to look anything but great!

High-heeled shoes have made the likes of Christian Louboutin, Manolo Blahnik and Jimmy Choo filthy rich and popular, not to mention the gods of the fashion shoe industry. If you want to build up your confidence then one way to do that is to follow the trend and get your feet on high heels. That is, if you can muster the art of walking wearing those literally killer heels.

Ken Paves: Celebrity Hair stylist

Dubbed as Hollywood’s hottest hairdresser, Ken Paves rose from a mere spectator of his mother  to one of the most sought-after beauty expert. He was recognized as Jessica Simpson’s hairdresser, and  now serves high-profile clients like Jessica Alba, Jennifer Lopez, Eva Longoria and Fergie. Ken has created some of Hollywood’s most glamorous extension hairstyles, always aiming for beauty instead of following the latest kooky hair color trends like the grey hair Kate Moss was sporting in a picture I came across on StyleCaster. Thanks to Vidal Sassoon Academy where Ken Paves first got formal training on styling, he flourished into a mature hair design expert when his works were published in international magazines in 1996. When asked about his technique in improving his work, he was quoted to have said “ to use self-expression”.

Clothing Trend: Splatter Paint Pants

The 80’s fashion is in the mainstream runway once again. One comeback fashion trend is the splatter paint pants which were popular before as an inexpensive yet groovy get-up. The design was derived from a working man’s canvas and was popularized by famous artists in the 80s. But then, the consumers then preferred it to appear minimalist. A little splatter of paint on the pants for the 21st century will surely do.

The 2010 fashion trends are going back to the 80’s and 90’s. It is like bringing back old fashion memories. It’s like being nostalgic of the past yet hopeful of a bright future. Whoever wears it and likes it at the same time, graffiti-style, would be likely called sentimental.

The Olsen twins are trying to make their mark in Hollywood, This is not through any fancy movie or stunt, but the Olsen twins opted to leave their mark by coming up with a sophisticate collection which they launched during the New York Fashion Week. Presented at the runway show was the Olsen Twins’ upper market label known as “The Row”. And to keep the attention away from themselves and onto to their design, the Olsens Twins kept the guests at a minimum, with only a handful of fashion photographers to witness the launch.

Jessica Stam on the cover of Turkish Vogue

Jessica Stam, a regular on the Fashion Week runway, graced the cover of the first issue of Turkish Vogue. It seems to be quite common for foreign magazines to use white models on their cover. Vogue India and Vogue China both debuted their magazines with white models on the fronts. One could argue that Vogue keeps putting western looking girls on the covers of international magazines because it is a western publication, but there is some concern that Vogue’s message actually is “this is fashion.” Though fashion is a very global industry, we need to remember that everyone can participate and look fabulous in the latest trends.  We are all in fashion!

Giorgio Armani and Lady Gaga

gaga armani

Lady Gaga is known not only for her undeniable talent, but for her creative sense of style as well. While most of her outfits are designed by her and her posse at Haus of Gaga, Lady Gaga surprised us all when she arrived at the Grammy’s in an ensemble designed by non other than Giorgio Armani. However, the outfit was no ordinary Armani dress, instead it looked like it came directly from Gaga herself. Now it seems, Armani is continuing the design for the pop star. Drawings have leaked to every online gossip site showing the Armani for Gaga designs that the Lady will be wearing for her Monster Ball tour. If it wasnt already an established fact, Mr. Armani proves himself as a designer with range!
